Air quality analysis

Compressed air is more than just air

Compressed air can contain water, particles, harmful gases, oil, bacteria and mold. All of this is a result of the surrounding air as well as influences from compressor and compressed air treatment.

The compressed air treatment must be sufficient, but not larger than necessary, as this would otherwise lead to unnecessary costs for energy and maintenance.

At Dansk Trykluft Industri, we carry out compressed air quality analysis so you receive documentation of the air purity and can ensure that your compressed air system complies with current requirements and standards.

Compressed air quality analysis according to international standards

Compressed air quality analysis is typically carried out according to international standards that define requirements for air purity. The most widely used standard is ISO 8573, which classifies compressed air based on the content of particles, water and oil.

In addition, in certain industries there may be specific requirements for air quality, for example for breathing air or medical compressed air. In such cases, analyses can be carried out in accordance with standards such as EN 12021 or Ph. Eur. to ensure that the compressed air is safe to breathe or use in sensitive environments.

What is measured in a compressed air analysis?

In a compressed air quality analysis, a number of different parameters are typically measured to assess the purity of the air. These may include:

  • Particles and dust in the compressed air
  • Water content and dew point
  • Oil content (aerosols and vapors)
  • Carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO₂)
  • Nitrous gases and other contaminants
  • Bacteria and microorganisms

These measurements provide a clear picture of the compressed air quality and make it possible to identify any issues in the compressed air system.

Analysis in accordance with current standards

At Dansk Trykluft Industri, we carry out analyses and reporting in accordance with relevant standards and guidelines:

  • ISO 8573-1:2010 – Classification of compressed air quality
  • Medical compressed air Ph. Eur. 10th Ed. (2020)
  • Danish Working Environment Authority Guidance D.5.1-1 (2018) – Compressed air for respiratory protection
  • European Breathing Air Requirement EN 12021:2014

The analyses provide documentation of the compressed air quality and can be used in connection with quality assurance, regulatory requirements or internal control procedures

Who needs air quality analysis?

Compressed air quality analysis is relevant in many industries, where compressed air is used in production or as breathing air. This includes, among others:

  • The food industry
  • Pharmaceutical and laboratory production
  • Electronics manufacturing
  • Surface treatment and sandblasting
  • Industrial environments with respiratory protection.

Here, even small amounts of contamination in the compressed air can affect products, processes and the working environment.

Get help with compressed air quality analysis

If the compressed air quality does not meet the requirements, we are happy to help identify the cause and prepare an action plan. This may include optimization of filtration, drying or adjustment of the compressed air system. In this way, you ensure a stable compressed air supply with the right quality for your specific production.

Reiling Glasrecycling Danmark ApS

The old 75 kW compressor had become too small to meet the increasing compressed air demand as production needed to be expanded.

The solution of letting one large compressor power the entire production turned out to be a very good idea.

Energy consumption was significantly reduced, while a 75 kW backup compressor was always available and ready to be used during service.

Service and repair

Our service technicians operate from mobile workshops across the country. Each of them is equipped with specialized tools and spare parts, enabling us to resolve at least 99% of all technical issues on site.

Energy optimization

In industry, energy optimization can be the key to both financial savings and more sustainable operations. At Dansk Trykluft Industri, we offer comprehensive energy measurements that help your company identify areas where optimization can be achieved and significant energy savings can be realized.

Rental of compressed air equipment

We rent out compressed air equipment for both short and long periods and put together a rental package that matches your compressed air requirements. Rental agreements can be offered with or without service during the rental period. During renovations, expansions, or the start-up of new production, rental can often be the most flexible solution.

Financing and leasing

The purchase of a new compressor or compressed air solution can be financed in several ways. We offer flexible financing agreements tailored to your company’s needs and which can be combined with a service agreement. This gives you a reliable solution and a clear overview of your costs.
