OMEGA B-DRY, cold-regenerated Adsorption Dryer

-20, -40 and -70 degrees Celsius pressure dew point - ISO 8573.1
Cold regenerative adsorptive dryer with or without energy management, dew point control

FACTS

B-DRY adsorption dryers are designed for continuous separation of water vapour from compressed air, thereby reducing the pressure dew point.

The B-DRY series dryers consist of two columns, filled with desiccant layers, a controller with an LCD display, valves, pressure gauges, a support structure, and suitable filter housings with the necessary filter element.

Adsorption occurs under pressure in the first column, while the second column regenerates with a portion of already dried compressed air at ambient pressure.

The dried compressed air is then led through a carbon tower for the removal of oil, air and vapours, as well as reducing the CO content to around 400 ppm – which is monitored on a display with the option for external connection via BUS systems.

COLD REGENERATED ADSORPTION DRYER

A cold-regenerated adsorption dryer (PSA principle) functions on the same principle as the heat-regenerated one, but uses expanded compressed air instead of heat to remove moisture.

Adsorption:

The compressed air is dried in one vessel as the moisture binds to the desiccant.

Regeneration (PSA = pressure swing adsorption (pressure swing):

Some of the already dried compressed air (approx. 15–20 %) is fed back through the saturated tank at low pressure. The dry air “steals” the moisture from the desiccant and expels it into the atmosphere. The tanks alternate cycles at short intervals (typically every 3 to 5 minutes), so that there is always one tank in operation and one undergoing regeneration.

Pressure dew point:

Just like the heat-regenerated type, it delivers a pressure dew point of -40°C as standard and can reach -70°C if needed. The main difference is therefore that you “pay” for the regeneration with finished compressed air (purge air) instead of electricity for heating.

DTI A/S and OMEGA AIR

OMEGA AIR has been part of the DTI family for several years. It is a highly valued supplier with fast response times, extensive know-how and extremely competent employees.

We regularly visit the factory in Ljubljana, Slovenia, which is constantly developing.

OMEGA AIR has a large R&D department where opportunities to optimise processes are constantly being sought, rather than copying others' products.

Therefore, we are very proud of the collaboration – especially on the drying side. Here, DTI has been involved in the development of dryers for CO2 and Hydrogen.

OMEGA AIR has the complete range for the aftertreatment of compressed air, vacuum, and gas.
