high-pressure compressor for air and gas within the range of 10 to 800 bar is typically a multi-stage piston compressor. These machines are designed to handle extreme pressures, far exceeding the standard pressure in compressors, which normally only reach 8-10 bar for general production.

Types and technologies

Depending on the specific pressure requirement, different technologies are used:

Reciprocating compressors: The most common type for very high pressures (up to 800 bar and above). They work by compressing the gas in several stages (multi-stage), where the gas is cooled down between each stage to increase efficiency and protect the components.
