One of the methods to recover as much heat as possible from a screw compressor is via heat recovery. This means utilising the heat that is released into the oil from either the gearbox or the screw element in an oil-lubricated compressor.
There are large amounts that can be exploited.
Approximately 90% of the energy supplied can be utilised as direct heat. The compressor emits a constant temperature of approximately 75 degrees during operation. In the case of a 100 kW compressor, this represents a significant amount of heat that should and must be utilised for heating elsewhere in the production process, or supplied to a district heating plant if possible.
